Types of Motorcycles Off-road
There are various types of off-road motorcycles, also known as 'dirt bikes', specially designed for off-road events. Compared to road-going motorcycles, off-road machines are simpler and lighter, having long suspension travel, high ground clearance, and rugged construction with little bodywork and no fairings for less damage in spills. Wheels (usually 21" front, 18" rear) have knobby tires, often clamped to the rim with a rim lock.
Types of Motorcycles Standard
Standards are versatile, general purpose street motorcycles. They are recognized primarily by their upright riding position, partway between the reclining posture of the cruisers and the forward leaning sport bikes. Foot pegs are below the rider and handlebars are high enough to not force the rider to reach far forward, placing the shoulders above the hips in a natural position. Standards are often recommended to beginning motorcyclists due to their flexibility, relatively low cost, and moderate engines.
Types of Motorcycles Touring
Although any motorcycle can be equipped and used for touring, touring motorcycles are specifically designed to excel at covering long distances. They have large-displacement engines, fairings and screens that offer good weather and wind protection, large-capacity fuel tanks for long ranges between fill-ups,
A Frame Slider Mounted to a Suzuki GSX-R750
Frame sliders, also called frame protectors, fairing protectors, or crash bobbins, are an accessory used on street motorcycles for the purpose of maintaining the bike's side fairings and internal components in the event of a crash, or preventing damage from dumping (dropping) the bike. They are made of plastics such as Delrin, acetal, or nylon, or sometimes aluminum. The frame sliders are usually located and installed on the engine bolts on the left and right side fairings.
Motorcycle with a removable trunk
A trunk or top-box is a storage compartment fitted behind the seat, often complimenting panniers or saddlebags. Original equipment versions may be removable or an integral part of the bike e.g. as fitted to the Honda Goldwing or BMW K1200LT, and may be fitted with the motorcycle rear lights, and a backrest for a passenger. The top box may also be an after-market fitment.Trunk may also refer to the under-seat storage space built into a motorcycle or scooter.

Motorcycle Ducati ST4s 2002-2005
The ST4s used the liquid-cooled Desmoquattro (four desmodromic valves) engine based on the Ducati 996. The Desmoquattro was largely unchanged from the 996 Super-Bike, and retained a valve angle of 40°, but lost 4 mm of diameter on each of the intake throttle bodies (down from 54 mm on the 996). Chassis clearances also required the use of the more compact cylinder head design that was shared with the 748 Super-Bike and Monster S4.
